Majesty The Castles and Vineyards of the Rhine River Click
here for a full brochure ITINERARY:
When we think of Switzerland, we think of spectacular Alpine scenery, window
boxes overflowing with red geraniums, tidy cities set on lovely lakes and grand
hotels. During our journey in June, we'll see the best of the scenery, enjoy superb
local cuisine and relax in superb hotels and chalets. Along the way, we'll also
meet the Swiss, in their homes, for good conversation.
For
the second part of our journey, weve selected the finest riverboat cruising Europe's
fabled Rhine River. Near the headwaters of the Rhine, in northern Switzerland,
we'll board the 5-star mv Heidelberg to cruise this beautiful waterway.
Our journey takes us to the Black Forest and the charming capital of France's
Alsace, Strasbourg. We'll also cruise through the idyllic 'middle Rhine', home
to towering hills topped by fortresses and castles and completely covered with
miles of vineyards. We'll take time to taste the Rhine's wonderful Rieslings and
Muller-Thurgaus. As a bonus, we'll also cruise up the Moselle River, a spectacular
river - perhaps even more beautiful than the Rhine River Valley. As
always, expect the ingredients of every Signature Journey: great travels,
insider events, fun, delightful surprises, the warm camaraderie of pleasant travelers
and good regional cuisine. A few Signature Journey
highlights: - 7 days, 6 nights in the high points of Switzerland.
This week includes all but three meals, regional wines with lunches and dinners,
first class or deluxe accommodations, airport transfers in Zurich and personalized
excursions each day.
- A week on the mv Heidelberg sailing
down the Rhine River from Basel (near its origin) to Amsterdam (near the point
where it flows into the North Atlantic). We've included one of ship's excursions
nearly every day as well as our private Signature Journey excursions. We've
also included your gratuities and complimentary regional wines with dinner each
evening.
- Good value. Even though the cost of European currencies
has made Europe expensive, you'll have prepaid, in dollars, virtually every expense.
No credit card surprises!
